How I Shine Bright on Diwali

Diwali is one of my favorite times of the year! All the family, fun, fireworks and of course, the FOOD. No matter if I’m spending it going to a party or doing something small and intimate, it’s a great reason to get all dolled up!

I created this Diwali-themed look for all of you beauties as a celebration of the season of colors and lights. To help ring in the festival properly, I had to call for the proper reinforcements –  glowing skin, layers of highlight, mesmerizing smoky eyes, voluminous lashes, eye-popping liners and a simmering pout!

First, I applied Rihanna’s new Fenty Beauty Match Stix Foundation for a good base. Here I used the trio shades of: Wheat, Mocha and Bamboo. I love the formula because it glides on smoothly and is easy to blend! Next, I followed up with the Killawatt highlight duo in Mean Money and Hu$tla Baby to add some more shimmer and shine! But if this isn’t glam enough for you, I recommend the Huda Beauty 3D Highlight palette because it compliments all skin tones!

It was important to me that I create a classic and timeless look, so I kept it simple with ravishing gold tones on the lids. There’s nothing like some glitter to make a gal feel like a true goddess! I then lined my eyes with the ‘Black Ink’ gel eyeliner from Bobbi Brown and Urban Decay’s ‘Covet’ eye pencil for a bold pop of dramatic effect! To top it off, I applied some ‘Bare Naked’ Velour Lashes for some full, yet natural looking volume.

To seal up the look, I coated my pout in Charlotte Tilbury! I chose the softer shades of ‘Pillow Talk’ and ‘Penelope Pink’ for my lips so it would not take away any focus from my eyes.

My Diwali look would be nothing of course without this bright sari by Pallavi Jaikishan and dazzling jewels from Surana Jewelers Jaipur, India!

I truly felt the spirit of this festival this year after taking the time to reflect inside and hope it showed on the outside as well. I’d like to wish everyone who celebrated near and far once again a Happy Diwali. Here’s to positive energy, prosperity, and peace.

Until next time… XOXO,
