Happy last and final month of 2017!
What an incredible journey this year has been! It was a year of reflection and change, of travels and great company. I want to start 2018 with a promise to myself- I will spend more time making meaningful memories and I want you to join me in that journey! My wonderful clients and followers keep me excited for the future and keep me motivated to work harder and improve the growing KC Makeup brand!
Of my many highlights this year, I got to travel to picturesque and beautiful Italy, which is such a rare treat because I got to take some time to enjoy myself with my amazing girlfriends. I am a big believer of working hard and playing hard, and after working hard, I hopped on a plane and said adieu to work related commitments and stress.
Before I get too reflective, let’s hop into the festive cheer! December means glamorous dresses and coiffed hair, because it is the classiest time of the year. I know so many of you are heading to Christmas galas and parties, so I’m here to help you achieve a gorgeous, golden glam look! I firmly believe that less is more: you don’t want to look like you have makeup caked on, it doesn’t look flattering in person even if your cheeks look like they are on fleek on Instagram.
For this holiday, I opted for soft metallic, shimmery eyes, a sharp winged eyeliner, fluttery lashes and statement lips with a twist; oxblood and burgundy are colors you can never go wrong with, so try creating an ombre effect with them.
The base and face:
With my trusty beauty blender, I bounced the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #7 and then concealed with the cult favorite, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. To highlight, I used my most used highlighter palette by Huda Beauty.
For eyes that smize:
Huda Beauty has been my favorite beauty brand of the year, and you guessed it! I used the Desert Dusk Palette on my eyelids to great a gorgeous gradient. Nars eyeshadow in Pygar creates an iridescent, blinding glaze perfect for any big occasion and as a topper on the lid. Created a deep black flick using my trusted Bobbi Brown Gel Ink Liner and lastly gave layers and volume to my lashes using the Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Mascara.
Lips that pout:
Nars lip products never disappoint, for they are highly pigmented and apply beautifully. For the outline, I used the darker shade in Velvet Lip Train Bleu. For the rest of the lip, I used Velvet Lip in Consuming Red. By blending these two shades together, you can create a gorgeous gradient lip that creates a bold modern twist on a classic look.
Pair this look with a cute top (mine’s a style steal from H&M!) and mist the air with your favorite perfume, I love the deep, heady scent of Amouage, and lady you’re ready to dress and impress!
Catch you in 2018, have a fabulous new year!
